Prerequisites
You must successfully complete two prerequisite courses before beginning your MBA coursework. Program prerequisites are Financial Accounting and Statistics courses taken within the last 5 years with a grade of B- or better in each. Please choose web-based courses OR traditional on-campus courses.
Web–based Courses
For convenience, these web-based graduate courses are offered through the Oncourse system. No trips to campus are necessary, courses are graded pass/fail, and the cost is the regular MBA tuition rate.
- BUS A501 – Financial Accounting & Reporting (1.5 credit hours)
Develops concepts and procedures essential for the preparation and interpretation of general purpose financial statements directed to users external to the enterprise. Critical analysis of contemporary financial accounting and reporting issues. - BUS K501 – Quantitative Tools of Business (1.5 credit hours)
Fulfills the statistics prerequisite for entering MBA students. A pass-fail, self-paced review covering the proper use and interpretation of essential statistical techniques in business situations. Provides a working knowledge of probability, quality control procedures, and regression analysis, with emphasis on solving problems using Microsoft Excel. This course will use Excel and assumes you have had some exposure to elementary statistics such as means (averages) and histograms. It also assumes you already know the basics of Microsoft Excel: how to select ranges, enter formulas and sort data.
To enroll in the web-based prerequisite courses, please submit the following items:
- Kelley Non-Degree Application
- Graduate University Application
Please select "Kelley School of Business Non-Degree" under the educational objectives section. - Official undergraduate transcript. However, if you have a bachelor's degree from Indiana University, you will not need to submit a transcript.
